VoD (Video on Demand)
Video on Demand (VoD) FastTV’s Media Portal gives a direct access to one of the largest movie libraries in Scandinavia. With the Video On Demand vendors, FastTV is able to bring a large selection of recent and classic movies. Movies are continuously added to the selection and within the nearest future TV programmes and sport events will also be available as a 24 hour rental service.

A movie theatre in your living room
VoD is simple to use. It is sort of like renting movies at the video store except it is not necessary to step outside in the rain or stand in long lines just to find out the movie is not available. From a comfortable seat the FastTV subscriber can select movies of the best digital quality without worrying about availability.

Automatic return

Automatic return after 24 hours - so do not think about returning the movie. The subscriber has 24 hours access to a rented movie before the movie ‘returns’ itself. During those 24 hours it is possible to pause, rewind and fast-forward as much as one like.

Internet

Access to the Internet With FastTV’s Media Portal, the subscriber gets a direct gateway to the Internet from the television set. Being connected to the high-speed broadband, the Media Box and the cordless keyboard allow the end user to access the Internet on the TV. One can easily follow up on a show or an event or check a lottery ticket during the commercial break.

Advantages & disadvantages
Pros and cons FastTV’s Media Portal opens up for an interactive dialogue and gives the subscriber a world beyond ordinary television. But TV is not like a PC. It is free from virus but it has no hard disk and lacks software. Thus, the end user is not able to save documents and websites based on very advanced programming can be difficult to download.

Send e-mail from your television
With FastMail the FastTV subscriber can send and receive emails from the television. It is possible to get up to five free emails with individual usernames, passwords and address books. FastMail is similar to an ordinary email. The FastTV subscriber can forward messages and can even receive attachments e.g. holiday pictures or a photo of a friend.

New ways of communication

FastMail adds a new dimension to the television by making it possible to communicate with friends and family directly on the TV monitor. One does not need to turn on the pc and the Media Box can be set up with a pop-up feature indicating incoming emails – also while watching television.
